Disney's 'Spirit of Aloha' Luau Experience At The Polynesian Village Resort
One of my favorite memories of all, is staying at the Poly (Polynesian Village Resort) and hearing the call to the Luau. I had wished and hoped and dreamed that one day I would get to go! We started staying at the Polynesian when I was about 10 years old or so, maybe younger. It was a dream of mine to go to the luau.
The first time I ever went was with Nick! In our first year of dating :) One of my favorite things about Nick, is when he travels he really likes to experience all there is to offer wherever we go. So when I mentioned I had never done the luau, he was so excited to get that booked and share that for the first time together. I remember sitting in my chair and praying not to get picked to dance... haha... I ended up getting chosen and had to go up on stage to learn to hula. I was terrified but it was so so fun.
That was 4 years ago! I went back again 2 years ago with my whole family, all 25 of us. It was so much fun to be all together and dance and sing and share in the aloha spirit together.
When we were planning our big girls trip this past October (2016), I knew I had to take the girls! And thanks to one of the amazing cast members... We got to do a meet and greet with the whole ohana! We met the fire dancers and everyone. They were so kind and made the whole experience extra magical.
If you haven't tried the luau yet, it is a must. Disney knows how to do a proper luau! Since this trip, Nick and I went on our honeymoon and got to experience the luau at Aulani, KA WA'A. Sitting along the shores of Oahu, Disney takes us through the history of hawaii and the journey that was taken to arrive on the beaches of Hawaii. I have another post about this luau, make sure to check it out!
We have been to our fair share of luaus since our first luau 4 years ago, both of us agree, Disney and non Disney, that so far Disney luaus are the best experiences.
Have you gone yet? I would love to hear what you think!
