Captain’s Grounds Coffee was our go to coffee spot each morning in Oceanside, CA.
What makes Captain’s Grounds unique, besides their delicious coffee, is that they are attached to a great vintage clothing shop, Captain’s Helm which beyond vintage clothing, features hand-made jewelry, records, local artists artwork and pottery, and more.
I loved strolling through the shop while waiting for my coffee each morning!
The coffee bar opens at 6am, but the retail shop does not open until 10am.
Captain's Grounds is a locally owned and family run. They serve local coffee, roasted exactly one block away, ensuring excellent quality and superior taste experience.
CHOICE SUPERFOOD BAR + JUICERY
Choice Superfood Bar + Juicery, Carlsbad.
Choice Superfood Bar + Juicery was my favorite spot to grab an acai super bowl and fresh juice! I only wish we had found it earlier on in our trip. I would have loved to try the lunch meals.
We had the Mint Chip bowl and a traditional Acai Bowl and both we so delicious! They were the freshest food we ate all week and it was nice having a healthy breakfast option so close to our hotel and just a few blocks from the beach. It would have been perfect for midday beach breaks for cooling down and nourishing body and mind.
I have family in Oceanside and in San Marcos and I can not wait to go back and visit and try more items on the menu here. It is definitely on my list of places to get back to.
STEADY STATE ROASTERS
Steady State Carlsbad, CA.
The good folks over at Choice recommended Steady State for coffee. We only were able to go once but I love the atmosphere and unique drink blends that you can’t get anywhere else.
We are big Chai Latte fans here, Steady State has their own version that they call Indian Summer. This is a ginger spiced chai and the ginger adds a beautiful spicy bite that pairs really well with the traditional blend.
Currently, I have been on that oat milk train, I love the rich full flavor that it adds to a hot breakfast beverage, especially a chai or cappuccino.
Steady State is a nano roaster and tasting room located in downtown Carlsbad, CA. Their sensory lab is open to the public seven days a week, where you can experience coffees ranging from espresso drinks to pour-overs and specialty beverages.
