We Hosted Our 3rd Annual Mouse Babe Pop Up Event
This past June, we hosted our 3rd annual Mouse Babe Pop Up Event here in Chicago.
Disney fans from all over the country flew (or drove) in for a one day fashion event dedicated to those who love to be #dressedindisney (@dressedindisney)!
What is Dressed in Disney? Five years ago a dream and a hashtag were born. I was hoping to see how people were wearing Disney fashion at the Disney Parks and in their hometown, in their everyday life. I had gone to the parks for two decades and was curious how people were styling the Disney merchandise that I had seen in the gift shops for years. Two years in and the movement really took off. I was so excited and in shock that people were using the hashtag and connecting and forming a community. Not only were we getting an inside look at what people were wearing in the parks everyday, but we were also creating friendships and small creative businesses were popping up, creating some really amazing designs that were inspired by the magic of Disney.
Well, here we are today! The hashtag is just about to hit 87K tags and we have celebrated 3 years of incredible Disney fashion and friendships with our annual events in Chicago. Each year seems to get bigger and bigger.
Every year we host our pop up event in order to shop our favorite small shops irl, but also to connect outside of the parks. It never ceases to amaze me just how kind and encouraging and inspiring each new Disney fan I get to meet is. Each of us shares a common bond of sharing magic with the world. Bringing a little bit of Disney with us everywhere we go.
This years event was Incredibles inspired. Celebrating the iconic Edna Mode with her very own Edna Mode Fashion Weekend. Guests were invited to come Disneybound as their favorite Pixar, Disney, Star Wars, or Marvel shero or hero or come dressed in Disney. I bounded as Edna Mode herself.
The beautiful thing about Disney, is that it doesn't attract just one type of consumer. That reach is broad and it's beautiful. It is truly a magnificent tapestry of dreamers.
We are hoping to take this event on the road and travel the country within the next year and are already planning next years event here in Chicago!
