2020 Is The Year We Will Be Making The Most Of Winter Fashion Here Are Some Of Our Favorites For The Season
One of my resolutions for 2020, is to make the most of winter and winter fashion.
As someone with sensory issues (especially skin sensory issues), this time of year can be a big hassle. The struggle to find something my skin will permit during this cold and dry season, has been a life long struggle.
After doing the Medical Medium detox however, I have been finding some relief, and for the first time in my life, I have been able to wear tights! This is a huge accomplishment. I am determined to take advantage of this new found ability and make the most of winter fashion this season.
I will be sharing some of my favorite styles I use to create chic yet eclectic looks for my everyday look. As always, I like to keep things simple and systematical. Fashion is a formula and following this formula really takes the stress out of perfecting the final product.
HAT + TURTLENECK + MAXI SKIRT + BOOTS
I have never been your jeans and a t-shirt kind of girl. In fact up until recently I didn’t even own a t-shirt or jeans and honestly, I never thought I would. There are however, reasons I have discovered that are suited for a jeans and t-shirt pairing. For me, those reasons are extremely rare.
I am much more comfortable in dresses, skirts, and gowns. So it has been a mission of mine to make those items work for cold winter months.
Now that I can wear tights… A whole new world has been opened to me. Staying warm in a cute skirt with a good pair of tights and tall boots, is foundation to my eclectic winter style. Another foundation piece in my formula are turtlenecks. Now I grew up in the 90’s were my mother and father had a heavy rotation of turtlenecks in place and I would make so much fun of them! Flash forward 15 years and the turtleneck has made a major comeback and it has me questioning why they ever went into hiding, and why I ever made fun of them.
The goal is to find a high quality, slim fit (maybe even a bodysuit) turtleneck, to show off your curves instead of getting buried in all that coverage.
Another key element is a good vegan hat.
Hatsmithe, a female owned brand, born out of Puerto Rico after hurricane Maria, is my go to for an ethically made + vegan headwear. Each style in the collection has been thoughtfully designed with heirloom in mind. These are pieces you wear for decades and pass on to loved ones.
