Let's Make 2021 The Year We Commit To Supporting Small Independent Designers and Creators All Year Long
We are almost through the first month of the New Year and as we all approached ringing in 2021 with extreme caution and low expectations after finishing the year that shall not be named, I realized this was the first year in decades that I didn’t make a list of resolutions and goals.
It’s not that I didn’t want to make them, but I really decided to start the year with action instead of written word. We packed up the car and headed on a long overdue road trip to sunny Florida for a week of kayaking, walking, and lots of outdoor time in the sun. It got me thinking about this year and what my hopes were for what I could control versus what I can’t control. I am a big believer in putting your money where you want to see the world go. You don’t need to be a billionaire to change the world. Our small daily financial actions can have a huge impact on creating the world we hope to see.

Small businesses and artists truly are the fabric of hope in our world and are so vital to our local communities. They have been hit so hard this year as big business has only gotten richer and seen increases in sales, small businesses have had to sit through a rough year of lockdowns, while big business remains wide open and accessible.
Many of them have taken what they had left and pivoted to survive. We were so overwhelmed with the love and support of our local neighborhood shoppers this past holiday market season. So many of them wanted to make sure that their local boutiques, artists, and restaurants would make it to a new year.
We made our goal for the holidays last year to only support independent local businesses! Now that 2021 is here, we want to continue to commit to that support and would love to encourage you to do the same.
