Fall Fashion Has Arrived And We Are Sharing Our Favorite Trends For This Cozy Season
Well hello Fall!
It is that lovely time of year where everything is touched by a beautiful golden hue. The sun sets and sets the clouds on fire with shades of orange and pink across a vibrant blue sky. Crisp amber leaves dance through the wind like little fairies making their way back home from adventure. The rustle beneath my feet remind me of my childhood.
It is the season for cozy, soft, whimsical, romance. And as the weather shifts and the seasons change, so do our wardrobes. I will be spending much of my fall traveling to my favorite small towns or out to visit family on beautiful country grounds where the corn stalks are tall and sun dried. Road trips have become my favorite mode of transport over the past year and a half and the mileage on my new car can attest to this new found love. With all that travel, I off course got in a bit of shopping at my favorite small shops and had a few favorite fall “trends” that I incorporated into my wardrobe. I use the term trends lightly as I believe true style transcends time and limitations set by fast fashion conglomerates.
I like to create lists of styles I am looking for when I shop for each season. These are the items I looked to add this Fall:
Long dresses with volume and movement.
Interesting sleeves. I have really been into sleeves lately. All shapes and sizes and variations.
Rich deep hues. I am known for wearing a lot of black in my every day wardrobe, but I really love playing with color and this Fall I am obsessed with browns, deep reds, jewel greens, and floral purples.
Prints and texture. I love bold style choices. The eclectic pieces that often get overlooked for safer alternatives. These become my wardrobe staples.
I have been experimenting a lot with pairing dressier items with my cozy clothes. Like pairing a bustier with sweatpants, or a statement piece with a really cozy oversized sweater. Layering bold sleeves under my go to slip dresses or sticking to maxi dresses with bold colors or prints that have a lot of movement to them. These are items that I fall in love with that will remain memorable keepsake items that I can tuck away for a few seasons and bring back years later with admiration.
